Wagon Tour Tickets

Tickets required
Everyone 10 and older receives a beautiful book of places visited on the tour. The book includes pictures and the history of each location.
Tickets may also be purchased during our Heritage Days event by visiting the Wagon Tour booth.
Please be at the wagon ride loading area 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tour.

Underground Railroad Museum Tour

Tours are held at the Zerchers Hotel, home of the
Underground Railroad Museum.
Tours times are

The events that occurred on September 11, 1851 in Christiana, Pennsylvania are cited as major flash points that led to the outbreak of the Civil War. These events are described in a guided tour at the Christiana Underground Railroad Center in an interesting and educational format for all ages.

The Roland Zimmerman Family will be performing on stage in the big tent at 10:00, 12:00 and 2:00.
The Roland Zimmerman Family performs bluegrass, old-time country and folk styles of music.
Doc Yoder is a magician. He will be roaming around the Heritage Days lawn from 10 to 2. Find him before he disappears.

Joe Becton - Will talk about anything civil war and play his harmonica at 11:00 and 3:00.

Don Whitley from the 1st Pennsylvania Reserves (reenactors) will be doing an arms demonstration.

Masonic Hall Exhibitors
Karen Hurd will be sharing her art and history of tin smiths.
Taylor Lamborn will be presenting the history of the Christiana Resistance from a Quaker perspective.
Janie Crowl is a yarn spinner. She will have live demonstrations complete with several spinners.

Gwen Dickinson, daughter of inventor William Chester Ruth. William Ruth was a Gap inventor who changed local farming for the better. He is credited with at least four patented inventions.
Nathaniel Taylor will be sharing the history of the Christiana Resistance from an African American perspective.
Harry Kendall author. Harry has written a book Truth Crushed To Earth about the fugitive slave rebellion in Christiana.

Other places to visit while in Christiana

Visit the Freight Station located at 10 Railroad Ave. You can check out the restored Conrail Caboose, enjoy the model train layout upstairs and browse all of the historical pictures of the railroad construction.

The Moores Library, located at 9 Slokom Ave., has interesting artifacts and books about the local history of Christiana.

Stop at the Train Station located on Gay St. and purchase tickets for the Strasburg Railroad. Price is $10 (regular price is $22). The purchase of railroad tickets will benefit the Freight Station.
