Our own Darlene Colón was one of 3 historians on a panel to present and discuss the details of the 1851 Christiana Resistance, a bloody confrontation that lent legitimacy to the nation’s growing abolitionist movement and helped push a morally-divided America toward civil war.
Pennsylvania College of Art Designathon February 18 2023

The Christiana Historical Society was selected as one of 8 local non-profits, out of over 100 applicants, to participate in the Designathon.
The Designathon is an annual event held by the college's American Institute of Graphic Arts Student Chapter (AIGA). Students gain real-world experience creating projects for clients with a one-day deadline. The non-profits are lucky enough to have professional-quality brochures, logos, etc. designed for their non-profit.
The Historical Society was represented by Darlene, Kathy, Monica and Terry. Our Designathon team members were:
Students: Tyler Handa and RJ Scott
Alumnus: Aeri Tulayan
Advisor: Scott Trobaugh

Our team rocked it! They designed an amazing brochure and elevated our logo and color palette. Their designs have been used on this website and will continue to be used on all our advertising, marketing and email correspondence. We've been branded!
